Some of the artists I remember looking at were
Beth Cavener - She does sculptures. They’re a bit morbid and odd looking but skilfully made.
Erin Mccarthy - Really shocking images. Great use of colour though. Images get your attention.
Fumi Sasabuchi - Fashion photography and illustration. Slightly macabre.
Daniel Gordon - WEIRD XD
Cassandra- fashion illustrator. Her figures have a skeletal look and “dead” expressions/makeup.
I don’t really have any others for that project as we were set it to show we could research the issue and develop a relevant aesthetic rather than back up our work with relevant artist research. I don’t know if they will be what you’re looking for but I hope it helps :)
